We are an organization of experienced CEO's in the New England area. Our mission is to use peer-to-peer CEO networking to support CEOs in running their companies, and also to improve their careers.  Our members are or have been CEOs, Chairman, Presidents, COOs, or General Managers of standalone businesses.  The group was founded in February 1999 by John Facella, an experienced CEO who could not find an existing organization in the Boston area that consisted only of CEO level people.

Our philosphy has been to keep the meetings of direct practical benefit to the members, to facilitate networking at and outside of the meetings, and to provide other opportunities for CEOs to learn and improve their skill sets.  We have kept our dues and meeting fees very modest so that we can have the widest CEO membership possible.

The format of our meetings usually includes:

-A noted speaker discussing a topic of interest to an operating CEO or their company. 

-In addition we have often have a member tell a "Success or War Story" that is an experience they have had in running a company that provides lessons to the rest of the membership. 

-Sometimes we have a 10 minute discussion of a "Problem of the Month" wherein a member can submit (anonymously if they wish) a current problem they are having in their company, and the members present act as a virtual advisory board to provide advice. 

-Additionally we sometimes have a roundrobin introduction where in members may bring up some need that they have to let other members know if they can help.

-A "Career Subgroup" is available to CEOs who are in career transition and looking for another company to run.  That group meets separately and exchanges job leads, search tips, and sometimes has their own speaker

-The CEO Place also has networking via emails among members, a special Yahoo Groups, and message boards on the Web site (for members only).
